Breakfast should NEVER be forgotten.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.. Is what they always say.
And for someone like me, it's not hard to see, how highly important it's done.
I wake up each morning, decide not to eat boring, But eat the best food of the day.
So with my eggs and my toast and tomatoes to roast, I make it yummier than any cafe.

Recipe for Baked eggs with beetroot toast:
Made from the contents of whatever was in my fridge at the time....

2 eggs
couple of slices of leek, or onion
small amount of capsicum brunoised
Little bit of mozzarella
Some thyme
Salt
Bread to toast
Rocket for salad
GOOD QUALITY olive oil
and a gourmet beetroot dip either pre prepared yourself or bought at the store.

Toss the onions, capsicum and thyme around in a frypan
Spray a oven proof ramekin, and place the cooked ingredients on the bottom
toss in the cheese and crack the eggs in one by one. Season with salt and pop in a moderate oven of 180 degrees for approx 10min.
To serve toast some bread and spread on the dip
toss some rocket with some oil and lemon juice.
Serve hot and dip the toast into your scrummy baked eggs.

Are we denying the crust to the people?

The sandwich is just not given enough credit down under. Whether its because where busy fussing over burgers, and kebabs I don’t know, but the sandwich holds between its crusts a potentially mind-blowing taste sensation that is overlooked because of its domesticated commonality as alunchbox-filling-playground item.

But its time we took a stand. I am an ambassador for the sandwich in all its simple measures, for like a burger itcan hit the spot. Lets break It down a sandwich is
1. Convenient
2. Quick to eat
3. Filling and
4. Yummy.
So what’s the problem? Why is it sandwichesare so lack-lust?

My travels throughout England saw to the importance of the sandwich in making it through a sometimes cold and miserable London day. Every corner store sold a variety of sandwiches even specialtystores like Prêt a Manager who prepare them fresh daily with flavours like‘Cracking egg salad’ and ‘Pole and Line, Caught Tuna Nicoise on Granary’ the names alone are enough to make you change your mind about how seriously you should take a sandwich.

Why are sandwiches so Blasé in Aus? -So mediocre in their efforts to fulfill your hunger pains? Sent to school withpoor efforts in sandwich making, like vegemite sandwiches, has made us loosesight of the brilliance of the sandwhich.
Are we denying the crust to the people?

Why are we frilling around with tapas and canapés when we have a not too shabby equivalent the Sandwich! Held between to soft slices of bread hold the moist fillings of sometimes salmon and Philadelphia or the good old egg sandwich that may sound weird but we all have a soft spot for them. The sandwich needs a comeback like Britney Spears- and I'm sure it will do a better job of it.

Its time we suss out the GOOD sandwich shops on offer, so that the next time someone asks you what to get for lunch, youll say:

‘Why not a sandwich’

Recipe for a Good'Ol'Sandwich:

1 hard boiled egg
2 slices of fresh bread, i like a nice rye
Some GOOD mayonnaise, i'd say make it yourself! or Neil Perry has a nice one
Pinch of salt, or if you like something a little different a touch of curry powder
Lettuce
A good Schemering of QUALITY Butter, i like Maitlands butter soft or Dutch Girgar.

Mash up your egg with the mayo and salt. Schemer your bread with your butter, fill with the egg and lay-on the Lettuce.
Delicimo!

Eating in a State of Procrastination.

I feel there is a type of eating given less attention in the media these days. Procrastination eating, boredom eating, opening a fridge or pantry and just staring into nothingness until you realize you feel like a biscuit. Eating for the sake of eating and eating cause you need to distract yourself from the thing you should be doing.

A lifestyle so bountiful with snacks that quickly fix 3-thirty-it is, that we become obscenely engrossed in the fantasy of the fridge and the pilgrimage to the pantry. Total first world problem, but it still needs to be addressed.

Procrastination, to enlighten those of you less familiar with the abysmal behavior, is when you try with all your might to put something off by distracting yourself in any kind of way.

I cant tell you the amount of times iv found myself standing point blank staring into the innards of my household pantry. Loosing myself in a place of nothingness where all that matters is whether I’m going to bother with the toaster and go for peanut butter on toast? Or take the easy option and gauge on a box of shapes that never ends, finding myself moments later with an empty box and a bruised self-esteem.

Whether your putting off studying or doing an assignment, getting the washing done, or just plain bored. I think everyone has had an instant of eating in a state of procrastination.

The other day I was studying for an exam and I swear I blacked out- later finding myself preparing ingredients for rice paper roles, soaking my sheets and getting ready to roll them out. Whether its my ‘subconscious stomach’ trying to tell me that I'm hungry? (I wish) or just a tendency to eat my way out of any situation! I found myself food procrastinating. This happens allot. Most endeavors I make in this state are usually centered around food. Am I alone?

Many take procrastination in the form of facebook, going through and sorting cupboards, cleaning already clean bathrooms, washing the car, and the list goes on. But food is less talked about, don’t know whether it’s a guilt thing, cause how wrong it is for us to snack and feast at time of what should be deep concentration. But food procrastination exists. It is a real thing that needs to be addressed.  Speak up food procrastinators!
